People always tell me how underrated The Hunchback of Notre Dame is. And it’s true - it doesn’t really get the credit it deserves. However, I wouldn’t call it underrated, because everyone knows how underrated it is. Everyone is aware of it, which can’t be said for all Disney movies.

Some people have never even heard of The Great Mouse Detective. You never see Bernard and Bianca anywhere, even though The Rescuers was very popular back when it was made. And some people doesn’t even know that The Black Cauldron actually is a Disney classic. 

Those movies are the truly underrated movies of Disney. The ones that people always forget the existence of. So, no. In my opinion The Hunchback of Notre Dame is not underrated or forgotten. Not compared to these movies.
